We may not have learned that we have a right to say no as well as yes and maybe. If we grew up in a household where our needs were habitually minimized then we may have lost connection with our authentic voice. We can reestablish that connection by centering and getting quiet, through yoga, meditation or simply breathing into the areas of our body that ask for our attention. Where does your no live? Where does your yes live? How can we embrace these feelings as opposed to wishing them away and, in doing so, honor our deepest desires?
